Ghosts

Ghosts are everywhere.

I shiver, not because i’m scared.

Their whispers are so clear.

I hear them.

And then they disappear.

They ride along the highways.

I see.

Maybe headed my way.

Then they touch me, pass right through me.

smiling.

Unveiling secrets.

Crazy.

Voices chiming.

They look in my eyes.

I see them looking at me.

Soft shadows, kind of silhouettes.

The memories blinding.

Lost in their world or them in mine?

Time flies but there’s no time.

Unfolding arms wrap my body, calling out my name.

Like children, fleeting youth.

They know the real truth.

I’m surrounded in fields of prairie grass,

eyes peering through a looking glass.

I’m astounded.

Beauty indescribable.
